Thank God, Seasons change

This hot fudge sundae hasn’t killed me, so it must be making me stronger. (Tweet from onlyfasteddie)

Now that’s the kind of suffering I can get behind!

There are only two ways this can go my friends. God can save you from suffering, or God can help you through suffering. Either way, there is one constant. God.

“It is the strength that endures the unendurable and spills over into joy. Thanking the Father who makes us strong enough to take part in everything bright and beautiful that he has for us.” (Col. 1:12 [MSG])

Sometimes when I hear the phrase “difficult season” I just want to scream at the top of my lungs. That’s okay. Go ahead and scream. It’s in the Bible. “Go away! Leave me, all you troublemakers! For the Lord has turned to listen to my thunderous cry.” (Ps. 6:8 [TPT])

So instead of thinking of trials as something happening to us, we should look at them as something God is doing in us. Whatever God is allowing me to go through, my prayer is make it count! I don’t want it wasted.

“You’re blessed when you’re at the end of your rope. With less of you there is more of God and his rule.” (Matt. 5:3 [MSG])

If God is all you have, then that is all you need. (Based on John 14:8)

When you are down to nothing, God is up to something.

“Pain and suffering have come into your life, but remember pain, sorrow, suffering are but the kiss of Jesus—a sign that you have come so close to Him that He can kiss you.” (Mother Teresa)

“Peace will never come until we have accepted in totality all that is involved in our suffering, even facing and accepting the fact that the sorrow that has struck us so suddenly may never be removed. Acceptance is taking from God’s hand absolutely anything He chooses to give us, looking up into His face with love and trust.” (Margaret Clarkson)

“Out of suffering have emerged the strongest souls, the most massive characters are seared with scars.” (Kahlil Gibran)

“So you have sorrow now, but I will see you again; then you will rejoice and no one can rob you of that joy.” (John 16:22 [NLT])

So joyfully keep plugging on my brothers and sisters! Just as in nature, seasons do eventually change. There are only two constants in life, change and of course, as previously mentioned, God!

And remember, what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. Except bears. Bears will kill you.

    1. Loved your blog. I tell people all the time that God and change are the only thing constant. Keep being obedient to God and what He has you doing. Being an encouragement to others-His children. Peace and blessings.😊

  1. So … bears don’t make you stronger? Unless, of course, you’re with another person. Recall that you don’t need to outrun the bear, just the other person. Ooh, that looks bad in written form!
Great post, as expected. Accessible to us with skills that reflect our simplicity, deep enough to keep us thinking, funny enough to make us laugh and, yes, the picture of the sundae is click bait worthy!

Thank God He understands our thunderous cries and yes the seasons do change. Thank you for an encouraging post.
