D-Day

The Normandy landings were the operations on Tuesday, June 6, 1944 of the Allied forces invasion of France in Operation Overlord during World War II. Referred to as D-day, it was the largest seaborne invasion in history. The operation began as the liberation of German-occupied France, and later Europe from Nazi control, and laid the foundations of the Allied victory on the Western Front. German casualties in D-Day have been estimated at 4,000 to 9,000 men. Allied casualties were at least 10.000, with 4,414 confirmed dead.

To commemorate the 75th anniversary of this liberation event, this post is dedicated to the men an women who served to keep us free. It is also to celebrate Jesus, who served and gave his life to keep us free.

Dancing- Break forth with dancing! Make music and sing God’s praises with the rhythm of drums! (Ps. 149:3 [TPT])

DawnHe will appear as your righteousness, as sure as the dawning of a new day. He will manifest as your justice, as sure and strong as the noonday sun. (Ps. 37:6 [TPT])

Day by day- So no wonder we don’t give up. For even though our outer person gradually wears out, our inner being is renewed every single day. (2 Cor. 4:16 [TPT])

Declare- Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples. (1 Chron. 16:24 [NIV])

Deep- They must keep hold of the deep truths of the faith with a clear conscience. (1 Tim. 3:9 [NIV])

Defend- Yet their Redeemer is strong, the LORD Almighty is his name. He will vigorously defend their cause so that he may bring rest to their land. (Jer. 50:34 [NIV])

Delight- Make God the utmost delight and pleasure of your life, and he will provide for you what you desire the most. (Ps. 37:4 [TPT])

Deliverance- When I had nothing, desperate and defeated, I cried out to the Lord and he heard me, bringing his miracle-deliverance when I needed it most. (Ps. 34:6 [TPT])

Deposit- Now it is God who has made us for this very purpose and has given us the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come. (2 Cor. 5:5 [NIV])

Desire- Yes, we will follow your ways, Lord Yahweh, and entwine our hearts with yours, for the fame of your name is all that we desire. (Isa. 26:8 {[TPT])

Devote- Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. (Col. 4:2 [NIV])

Devotion- And you, Solomon, my son, get to know well your father’s God; serve him with a whole wholehearted devotions and with a willing mind. For the LORD searches every heart and understands every motive behind the thoughts. If you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will reject you forever. (1 Chron. 28:9 [NIV])

Disciple- Jesus said, ‘If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.’ (John 8:31-32 [NIV])

Display- Yet I was captured by grace, so that Jesus Christ could display through me the outpouring of his Spirit as a pattern to be seen for all those who would believe in him for eternal life. (1 Tim. 1:16 [TPT])

Divine- As a result of this, he has given you magnificent promises that are beyond price, so that through the power of these tremendous promises you can experience partnership with the divine nature, by which you have escaped the corrupt desires that are of the world. (2 Pet. 1:4 [TPT])

Draw – Let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. (Heb. 10:22 [NIV])

Drink – …We are privileged to drink deeply of the same Holy Spirit. (1 Cor. 12:13b [TPT])

Drive – Love never brings fear, for fear is always related to punishment. But love’s perfection drives the fear of punishment far from our hearts. (1 John 4:18a [TPT])

Dwell – Even though you were once distant from him, living in the shadows of your evil thoughts and actions, he reconnected you back to himself. He released his supernatural peace to you through the sacrifice of his own body as the sin-payment on your behalf so that you may dwell in his presence. And now there is nothing between you and Father God, for he sees you as holy, flawless, and restored (Col. 1:21-22 [TPT])

So my dream for you on this D-Day is that your daily dare to declare and dedicate the use of the above ‘D’ words. Thereby dazzling others with your determination to demonstrate the divine glory of our Defender and Deliverer. Don’t dabble but decide to dig in and do it. This will delight God, who is your Dad in heaven.
