We watched a couple of Transformers movies recently. I remember my son watching the cartoons in the 1980’s. Transformers is product of American and Japanese media franchises and toy companies. It follows the battles of sentient, living autonomous robots, who can transform into other forms, such as vehicles and animals. The Autobots are the good guys, and the Decepticons are the bad guys. Deception is kinda in their name.
Any of who who have read my blog for awhile, knows the Holy Spirit uses my quirky brain to make connections for these posts. I was trying to imagine what kind of vehicle I would transform into. Yes, vehicle, as I consider myself one of the good guys, the Autobots.
I decided I’d be an off-road pickup, the kind with rows the big LED lights. My name would be Luminaire. (Because I try to be shiny for Jesus every day!) Luminaire is defined as a complete lighting unit. Yup, that’s my goal, be complete in Jesus.
It is fascinating to watch the Transformers, transform from a car, truck, or semi truck, into their real being. As a Transformer, I am transforming every day from who I am now, into my real being, who God intends me to be.
God is fascinated watching me transform everyday.
“For because of our faith, he has brought us into the place of highest privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to actually becoming all that God has in mind for us to be.” (Rom. 5:2 [TLB])
“For he knew all about us before we were born and he destined us from the beginning to share the likeness of His Son.” (Rom. 8:29a [TPT])
“Stop imitating the ideals and opinions of the culture around you, but be inwardly transformed by the Holy Spirit through a total reformation of how you think. This will empower you to discern God’s will as you live a beautiful life, satisfying and perfect in his eyes.” (Rom. 12:2 [TPT])
“We can all draw close to him with the veil removed from our faces. And with no veil we will all become like mirrors who brightly reflect the glory of the Lord Jesus. We are being transfigured into his very image as we move from one brighter level of glory to another. And this glorious transfiguration comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” (2 Cor. 3:18 [TPT])
Defined transfiguration is a marked change in form or appearance; a metamorphosis. Transformation is a complete change in the appearance or character of something or someone, especially so that that thing or person is improved.
“But we are a colony of heaven on earth as we cling tightly to our life-giver, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our humble bodies and transfigure us into the identical likeness of his glorified body.” (Phil. 3:21 [TPT])
So that got me to wondering, what does the Transformer Jesus look like? Well I’m happy to tell you!
“I saw someone like a son of man, wearing a full-length robe with a golden sash over his chest. His head and hair were white like wool—white a glistening snow. And his eyes were like flames of fire! His feet were gleaming like bright metal, as though they were glowing in a fire, and his voice was like the roar of many rushing waters. In his right hand he held seven stars, and out of his mouth was a sharp, double-edged sword. And his face was shining the brightness of the blinding sun!” (Rev. 1:13-16 [TPT])
And His Transformer name? “I AM the Beginning and I AM the End, the Living one!” (Rev. 1:17 [TPT])
We are being changed in form and appearance, from brighter level of glory to the next, especially so that we are improved into becoming complete lighting units for Jesus!
So think about it and let me know. What vehicle would you be and what is your Transformer name?
