I can’t believe it! Jun 20th will be 5 years of my writing this blog! When I first thought of doing it, I got weak in the knees, but God has guided me and blessed me along the way!
So I am sharing my first post with you all that was entitled “The Ultimate Cage Match.”
The only thing I am adding is a verse I just read the other evening because it fits.
“Unfailing love and truth have met together. Righteousness and peace have kissed.” (Ps. 85:10) (Believe me, after you read my first post, you’ll understand.)
Enjoy!
Let’s get closer to see the action of this long anticipated cage match. In the center of the cage, Joy and Happiness are standing toe to toe, starting at each other while the referee goes over the rules.
Referee: “Okay, here are the rules, there are no rules,”
Then the camera zooms in on our opponents, waiting to see who will strike the first blow. The cameras pick up a slight nod from Joy, and Happiness returns the gesture with a wink. The bell rings and the two reach out their arms… and hug each other…and begin to laugh! They are just happy to be with the other, filled with joy at their intertwined tasks to help humanity know the love of God. Their laughter is infectious, and the crowd are on their feet joining in. The viewers at home cannot believe what just happened, but are also caught in the wave of God’s love washing over them. Families are healed, and folks are radiating love to their neighbors. The Beatles song All you need is Love begins to play as the world become a better place.
“We laughed and laughed, and overflowed with gladness! We were left shouting for joy and singing Your praise. All the nations saw it and joined in, saying, ‘The Lord has done great miracles for them.” (Psalm 126:2 [TPT])
I’m sure you’ve heard the saying, Laughter is the best medicine. There is such a thing laughter research. One such researcher, William Fry, claimed it took ten minutes on a rowing machine for his heart rate to reach the level it would after just one minute of hearty laughter. Laughter affects our bodies in various ways. Although the studies done are not conclusive, it does improve your quality of life, reduces your stress, and can change your outlook from negative to positive.
I love to laugh, and hope that I am contagious enough to bring joy and happiness to others. So I began to think what makes me happy. The most joyful thing I can think of: I will live with Jesus forever! Not only is he living in me now, but when my mortal body breathes its last breath, I get to see him in heaven. I don’t fear dying, because the sheer joy of seeing Jesus, face to face!
Adam and Eve had that joyful pleasure in the Garden of Eden. There is a reason it is called Paradise. In Matthew Henry’s Commentary on Genesis 3:8, he states, “They welcomed God’s gracious visits with humble joy. God choosing to spend part of the day with them, spending time with them.”
I long for that kind of daily intimacy with God. In my current condition, I am flawed and broken. Only by the daily gift of his grace, do I have any relationship with him. So now I am just getting a small taste of the joy of spending time with him. So being with him forever brings me mind blowing joy! I cannot even imagine how awesome it will be, but I look forward to it with every fiber of my being.
Phil. 1:21 says “For me to live is Christ, to die is gain.” Right now I have work to do for God, so I am living for Christ. But if I die, I gain, because then I am with Jesus for eternity!

I wondered what joy and happiness were going to do in that cage match. Hugging sounds right to me! In the world, sometimes things just don’t add up. The ledger sheet doesn’t balance—to borrow your account lingo. But in Christ we are reconciled to God. The balance has been paid. Amen! Congratulations on 5 years of successful blogging! His best to you❤️🙏

Happy blogoversary, friend! This reminded me of a book I read about people reporting their near death experiences of heaven. I remember reading that book and thinking, “Wow, there is so much to look forward to in heaven!”

I started blogging June 14, 2017. Spot checking I see a few photos in early posts. 9-28-17 looks like the first photos post.
1-20-18 is the first Quoted Photos post.
Fairly regular Quoted Photos posts began in July 2019.
(1-29-21 worth seeing.)
Nature photo daily posts began 7-29-22. Eventually I quit texting and Facebooking a couple pics each day, sending links to posts instead. 😉

Wow five years in the pen…haha, you must have been bad! 😉
I always wanted to use that coloquial phrase from the US in a sentence – thank you sister!
Congratulations on reaching five years though. I really love how your imagination works weaving a lovely story, you should do more of these.
Laughter is indeed the best medicine which reminds me of one of my heroes of British entertainment Ken Dodd who was an old school comedian. He famously studied the science of laughter and coined the phrase “chuckle-muscle”, from where our laughter come from. Look him up on Youtube…but have tissues at the ready! 😉

Oh that is too funny! I’d love to look him up on Youtube, but the warden took away my computer privileges today. Actually, I did look him up singing the Happiness Song. What a great witness!

Happy Blogversary. I’ve been blogging off and on for about fifteen years. It has its pros and cons, and I may not be the best at it (I know I’m not the worst there is – lol), but I really do enjoy it.
