What a mashup!

I had to go to Home Depot yesterday. As soon as I walked in to my right were the Christmas decorations. To my left were the Halloween decorations. Further down in the store were the Thanksgiving decorations. And it was only October 21st! Yikes, talk about overload! When I mentioned this to the lady helping me in the plumbing aisle, she wished me a “Happy Hallowthanksmas!” We both laughed out loud. Yup, sounds about right, mashing all the holidays together.

I have a relative who keeps track of who gives her what at Christmas. She says it is for sending thank you notes. All of us in the family know better. She is a serial re-gifter. She keeps track of who gave her what, so she doesn’t give back to you what you gave to her.

I read this the other morning by Charles Stanley and it fits with my theme.

“Imagine receiving a beautifully wrapped gift when there was no special occasion. Inside the package is something very special. Eagerly, you read the card to discover who could have been so generous. To your amazement, you learn the giver is someone you’ve been unkind to and even avoided.”

He goes on to say, “This scenario is a picture of the Father’s grace in sending His Son Jesus to earth. There was no special occasion; God was determined to save us, despite the fact that we ignore or rebel against Him.”

I received such an wonderful gift and I am determined to be a re-gifter of this, and give it to everyone I am able to!

So in the holiday spirit of Hallowthanksmas, won’t you join me and become a re-gifter too?

  1. ……and you don’t even have to keep a list!! It’s even better than the energizer bunny, it’s the gift that keeps on giving forever, till the end of time. Praise the Lord for His forever love and forgiveness AND He wants us to keep asking for more. AMAZING GRACE❣️🛐✝️🕊️

  2. The holidays have new meaning for me this year and that is nice for me. I pray for those that will mourn this holiday season as death is on many doorsteps this year (not that any other year has really been any different), but the need for His blood on the doorposts has once again been misunderstood and rejected.
