Cut you down to size

This post will be short and sweet. (No, David and Alan, this still does not mean mini Snickers!)

It came to me while reading this verse that there are a lot of folks out there that think it is their mission to cut people down to size. They somehow think this makes them bigger, smarter, braver, etc etc. In reality it is just sad.

They believe by pulling out the Wolverine Adamantine claws, they can slash you down to size so you fit into their teeny tiny box on how they view the world.

But because we have the Holy Spirit living inside of us, we can downsize those claws to little preschool scissors. I mean, have you every actually had any luck cutting with those things?

Why do they feel this way? Because the Light in us, Jesus, shines so brightly. It is so bright because He is trying to show them their sins, so they can turn from them to Him.

Cain knew he had been doing wrong, and he also knew very well that his brother’s life was better than his. That’s why he killed him. So don’t be surprised if the world hates you. (Based on 1 John 3:12-13 [TLB])

This has been going on since the first family on earth, and will not stop until the return of Jesus. So keep shining brightly, it is worth it!

  1. This is a fantastic post, Cindi! When I saw the title I immediately said, “don’t do me like that.” I am so thankful that the Holy Spirit helps us endure the attacks of others. I pray that I will build people up and not cut or tear them down. Oh, and yes, you are correct, I never cut anything with those little elementary school scissors!!!!

  2. Good day Cindi, thank you for sharing this condensed but powerful post 😁
Recently I have had to deal with such an individual for no obvious reason that I can see. I just bottle up my feelings and send them post/prayer haste to Father God – the only Royal Mail!

  3. It’s a comfort to know that a full-sized Snickers bar is the same as eating three peaches. Calories are calories, sister Super-C.🤠
Seriously, what came to mind when I saw your post title is, “Live by the sword? Die by the sword.” Jesus, and the Apostle Paul talked about both the danger and absurdity of judging others.
We will be judged (by God) in the same way we judge others, and it’s not like we don’t make mistakes ourselves.
This is all the more reason to be kinder and more merciful than some feel is necessary.

  4. I understand the desire to be a wolverine at times, but then I realize it’s best to leave everything up to the Lord. It’s never fun being attacked by a wolverine myself!
