AAA estimates that over 119 million Americans will be traveling for Christmas this year.
So this post will be direct and to the point as you who are traveling, are busy checking your bags, standing in line, or driving.
My hope is in Jesus, because He sees Himself in me. (Charles Stanley)
How grateful I am every time I think of this. Jesus left heaven, came to earth as a vulnerable baby to restore us to relationship with God.
One day I will also have the opportunity to look into His eyes, and fall to my knees in awe for what he did for me, and for you.
Merry Christmas!

I have not seen my grandchildren in Tennessee for just over a year. I was planning a short trip to see them, about as many driving days as visiting days, but my sister’s husband passed away suddenly, and my trip is being extended at little. Thank you for this blessing of sorts. This trip is definitely in God’s hands.

Blessing of sorts is all in God’s hands. This last year with the 2 bridges that I travel over to get from my home to town has shown me blessing of all sorts, when I rested and looked to God for them.

Pittsburgh may be called the Steel City, but it is a city of bridges, and we are reminded each winter that the bridges ice over before the roads do. Be careful.

In April they found a crack in one of them and completely shut it down. Then investigated the other one too. It was 7 1/2 months of long waits and detours while they fixed them.

Ever since the interstate bridge in the Twin Cities collapsed, they have been inspecting and fixing bridges. Where we are, there is usually another way around, but it might double the length of the trip. Odd, how we take bridges for granted. Maybe that’s why C.S. Lewis spoke of the great bridge builder in one of the Narnian books.

Nice! My normal 30 minute, one way commute took 1 hour and 45 minutes one way from April 18th to July 4th. Then we got to drive across the bridge, one way following the pilot car until Dec 9th.

And it was on a dirt road, so when I got my car ready for winter, the guy at the shop took off the air filter and it crashed to the ground it was so full of dirt!
