Yesterday I saw a man walking a big dog. Correction: I saw a big dog walking the man. This dog was pulling hard at his leash and the man was doing his best to hold on and remain in control. They were approaching an intersection and the man was trying to stop the dog from going into oncoming traffic.
When I got back to my office it hit me. How often do I do this to God? Pulling ahead of Him, trying to do things my way, all the while, God is trying to stop me from blindly walking into harm. I pull hard at the leash that keeps me on the path He has chosen me to walk on, wanting to go here or there, when I should just relax, enjoy the walk, and spending time with God.

What a lovely treat – a midweek devotional from you Cindi…and it’s a good one too. Not that it surprises me. You reminded me of a dear old brother Lawrence Blair (Hillsboro, Oregon) who makes lovely daily devotional videos (Pilgrim Devotions), he always reminds us to walk behind Christ, maybe beside Him, but never get in front of Him – “you don’t want to be there!”
God bless you today sister 🙏

We’ve got one or two of those in our neighborhood. Great analogy!
