This last month has been rough. Issues with technology at my office and trying to get someone to help get them resolved has been a “process.” (Yes, my voice is dripping with sarcasm.) One thing’s for sure, it has driven me closer to God and relying on Him before I freaked out. This has been my go to verse.
“Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes.” (Matt 6:34 [MSG]) And so He has!
So on the day of my scheduled appointment, anywhere between 8aam and 5pm, I showed up at 7:45am, and waited and waited and waited. Finally I called the 800 number and got a lady who said the tech should be at my office between 2pm and 2:15pm. (He did not show up until 4:30 and then did not have enough time to fix it. Luckily he came back the next morning at 9am and got me sorted out!)
While on the phone with the customer service lady, I was doing my best not to be aggravated, so instead pulled out a joke for my Evil Offset Arsenal. She laughed so hard it was a joy to hear. Then she apologized for what I was going through and I told her, and started telling me something about herself, and then said, “gosh, I’m not sure why I shared that with you.” I told her it was alright as we are all going through something and it is good to share that with someone, so we know we are not alone. She told me that almost started her crying, and I told her it was okay, we are all in this together.
I know I’m not the only one who sometimes feels like I’m the only one going through something difficult. It is good to give someone a hand up, or receive a hand up, so we know we are not alone.
That’s why I’ve been listening to people’s testimonies on YouTube. It reminds me that there are others going through struggles, and that God always shows up in every situation.
So let’s remember, we are not alone and reach a hand out to others to let them know the same.

I once called the water utility to disconnect our water so that the inhouse shutoff valve could be replaced. The window was between 8 and 10am. I had the plumber waiting. He actually came to the house at 10am. No show. About 1pm, the woman showed up. She said that she does not get to work until noon and then she has to do a safety check and tools check of her vehicle and I was an hour drive away. The call center – not in the USA – never was informed as to when the technicians were available. Luckily she had not wandered very far when the plumber took about twenty minutes to do what he had to do. Not informing the call center is not a valid excuse. Then again, I greeted her with great gratitude in that the plumber would soon be off the clock.

Greeting with gratitude is what I did too. And yes, that call center nonsense is just that, nonsense!
