Ponder my brand of sunshine

God wired my brain to make random connections come together like oddly shaped puzzle pieces. Then when the puzzle is finished, I can stand back and see what He gave me to share with you. It is my own brand of sunshine and I am happy to shine with you!

Ponder: To throw together, confer, put one thing with another in considering circumstances (W.E. Vine Expository Dictionary of New Testament Words) In Strong’s 2372 thymos describes ponder as an intensifying passionate response. 1722 enthyme refers to passionate supposing (surmising) in a person’s mind (heart) producing fervent inner cogitation (to think deeply about).

This is what I go through in getting posts ready. I am a passionate ponderer. I am so grateful to God for giving me this gift. I want to put that passion in my messages to get you to ponder God deeply as well.

The idea of this post began when Misty L. Johnson made a comment on The most beautiful bride ever! She said, “wouldn’t it be wonderful if we woke up every morning saying ‘God, forgive me of my sins I believe that you, Jesus, died on the cross for me. Please be my Lord and Savior today and every day forward.'”

We need to choose for ourselves this day whom we will serve. (Based on Josh. 24:15 [NIV])

So many thanks Misty. Because of you, I am aware of my need to take that quiet moment before I get out of bed to do just that. Just me and God talking about the upcoming day.

“This shall be a daily offering at the door of the Tabernacle before the Lord, where I will meet you and speak with you.” (Ex. 29:42 [TLB])

“So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.” (Rom. 12:1-2 [MSG])

“At each and every sunrise you will hear my voice as I prepare my sacrifice of prayer to you. Every morning I lay out the pieces of my life on the altar and wait for your fire to fall upon my heart. (Ps. 5:3 [TPT])

Doing this starts my day out right. It reminds me, before anything else crowds in, to focus on God, no matter what hard things I have to face in in my day.

“So we’re not giving up. How could we! Even though on the outside it often looks like things are falling apart on us, on the inside, where God is making new life, not a day goes by without his unfolding grace.” (2 Cor. 4:16 [MSG])

“The secret of the future is here in the present. If you pay attention to the present, you can improve on it. And, if you improve upon the present, what comes later will also be better. Each day, in itself, brings with it an eternity.” (Paulo Coelho The Alchemist)

So this is my goal with these posts: “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the Word of Truth.” (2 Tim. 2:15 {ESV])

So please keep reading and enjoy my brand of sunshine my friends! I love you! (Eye, heart, ewe)
