Pandemic of Kindness

Widespread outbreak. That is the definition of pandemic, and we have all been living with the
craziness and aftermath that it has caused in the world. But then a moment comes, when someone
tells you something and the truth of it makes you catch your breath. That happened to me recently. A good friend of mine, Linda Rau, was struck with inspiration from the Holy Spirit and she was obedient and acted upon it. She told me what she intended to do about it, and asked if I could post it to get the word out. I told her I’d be happy to do so.

So now that I have your attention, what is her idea?

Here it is in her words.

Local woman wants to start a “Pandemic of Kindness!” The “Golden Rule” states “So in everything, do to others what you would have them do you”….NIV, is referenced in scripture in Matthew 7:12. She desires to make July 12th (7-12) Golden Rule Day.
Before you do or say anything to someone else, take a second or two and ask yourself if you
would want this said or done to you (or somebody you love). Perhaps, that couple of extra seconds,
will stop an act of violence or keep some feelings from being hurt, and maybe, just maybe,
rather than a negative knee jerk reaction, it will turn into a positive knee jerk reaction.
Then maybe, just maybe, as quickly as all the chaos and hatred has spread, peace and calm,
kindness and love will spread. Doesn’t sound too bad to me.

IT ONLY TAKES OBEYING ONE RULE TO OVERCOME ADVERSITY.
