I’m going to make Millions!

This idea is genius! I don’t know why I didn’t think of it sooner. Maybe you’ve heard of carbon offsets.

A carbon offset, sometimes called a carbon credit, refers to paying someone else to reduce their carbon emissions or increase their carbon sequestration (as in by planting trees) in order to offset your own carbon emissions. In many situations, it is more affordable to buy carbon offsets than to reduce your carbon emissions. You don’t actually clean up your pollution, you just pay someone else to cover up your bad choices.

So I am giving you the opportunity to pay me for Christmas Cookie Offsets! This credit allows you to eat as many Christmas cookies as you want with no consequences! No calories, no weight gain, and no additional pounds. So eat up!

But since we are celebrating Christmas, what we really have been given is a Sin Offset. The birth of Jesus was planned wherein He would take our sin upon Himself, and give us everlasting life, if we ask Him to become the Savior of our life. When we do that, we are actually allowing Him to remove our bad choices. Not just cover up, but forgiven and removed!

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” (John 3:16-17 [NIV])

So accept the real gift of the sacrifice Jesus made on our behalf, while, of course, eating all the Christmas cookies you want.

Merry Christmas everyone!

  1. This is too-notch. What a great analogy! I love it when someone repurposes an everyday occurrence and applies it to the gospel.
I’ve only had one Christmas cookie—so far—but there will be more to come, no doubt. And, thanks to you, I don’t even need to feel guilty!😇
