Happily ever after

My last post told you how my neighbors were acting like my enemies. This is the story I am using to encourage myself based on 2 Chronicles 20.

My enemies came to wage war against me. Alarmed, I resolved to inquire of the Lord, and I proclaimed a fast and to seek help from the Lord.

I prayed, “Lord, are you not the God who is in heaven? You rule over all the kingdoms of the nations. Power and might are in your hand, and no one can withstand you. If calamity comes upon me, whether the sword of judgment, or plague or famine, I will stand in your presence before you and will cry out to you in my distress, and you will hear me and save me. My God, will you not judge them? For I have no power to face this vast army that is attacking me. I do not know what to do, but my eyes are on you.”

Then the Spirit of the Lord said: “Listen, Cindi, this is what the Lord says to you: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s. Tomorrow march down against them. You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the Lord will give you, Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the Lord will be with you.’”

So I bowed down with my face to the ground, and fell down in worship before the Lord and stood up and praised the Lord, with a very loud voice.

I declared, “Have faith in the Lord your God and you will be upheld; have faith and you will be successful. And I sang to the Lord and praised him for the splendor of his holiness as I went out saying:

Give thanks to the Lord,
for his love endures forever.”

As I began to sing and praise, the Lord set ambushes against my enemies, and they were defeated.

When the battle was over I went to carry off the enemies plunder, and I found among them a great amount of equipment and clothing and also articles of value—more than I could take away. There was so much plunder that it took me three days to collect it. On the fourth day I stood in the Valley of Berakah (Praise), where I praised the Lord.

Then I returned joyfully to my home, for the Lord had given me cause to rejoice over me enemies.

And I was at peace, for my God gave me rest on every side.

And I lived happily ever after with Jesus.

The End.

  1. Praise God that Peace is a Person and His Name is Jesus. Even in the midst of the evil your neighbors are doing to you, Jesus is your peace. I have no idea why this is happening to y’all, I am encouraged by You resting in Him and allowing Him to take vengeance. Praise Jesus there will be a day that sin, death and evil will be a thing of the past and that we will live with Jesus, serving and worshiping Him forever and ever. Love you sweet friend!
