I just want to apologize. I normally do a post once a week. But with the bridge closure, I’m trying to navigate my “new normal.”
When I do drive to and from work, that adds two hours on my day. I’ve worked out a schedule for my week now on when I’ll spend the night in town, verses going home. I think it is going to work.
The Department of Transportation, as well as everyone else who is helping us through this situation, have worked tirelessly over the last three weeks to make a high mountain dirt road usable for a detour. They have completed about 40% of the assessment on the actual condition of the bridge.
And to top it all off, it has been snowing/raining here and will continue to do through next week. Making that high mountain dirt road even more fun to drive on!
Based on the assessment, they say it might be four weeks to six months before it can be fixed and driven on again. Or possibly, the will have to replace the three middle sections of the bridge, and those pieces would not even be available until January of 2025.
So all in all, still up in the air.
Then on top of all of this, one week after the bridge failure, my husband thought it would be a good idea to get a new puppy! So there goes any other spare moments in a day!
I shall do my best to keep you posted.

Perfect time to get a puppy……………………Oh look at you! You’re soooo cute!………………….NO, NO you do that outside!……………………..Yes, perfect time to get a puppy……we recently acquired a new kitten…….VERY playful one……….we already have two dogs and two cats……..things have calmed mostly down, now that the introductions are worked out….oh, and did I mention, things are mostly calmed down now? Mostly.
Bridges being taken out of commission in various places. Crazy. But, not really surprising.
