A fellow blogger reached out to others and asked if we would participate in writing Advent posts for this year. So I am joining with others to do just that.

Advent is the coming or arrival of something or someone that is important or worthy of note.

Advent is a season observed in most Christian denominations as a time of waiting and preparation for both the celebration of Jesus’s birth at Christmas and the return of Christ at the Second Coming.

The Israelites waited a long time for the arrival of the promised Messiah. And then he arrived, albeit unexpectedly. He gave up living in heaven to come as a baby. He grew up and worked for 30 years before starting His ministry. Then for 3 years did the will of His Father, and died for our sins and was resurrected. Whereupon He returned to His Father in heaven.

Now we are waiting in advent, for His second coming, where everything will be made right.

So I am living in eager expectation for His return—or Advent 2.0. What a great way to begin this holiday season.
