Being included means a lot. Many people struggle with loneliness. Peer pressure is fierce. But thanks to Jesus, I know I am a part of something much bigger. I am a member of a family, now and forever.
“Our” is a possessive pronoun that means “belonging to us” and is used before a noun, such as in “our house” or “our plans.” It indicates possession or connection with the speaker and others included in “us.”
That’s why this hit me hard the other day. When Jesus was teaching His followers how to pray He began with “Our Father.” That means that His Father is our Father. We are part of His family. We have a connection with The Speaker, who Is the Word. And all others who believe in Him are included in “us.”
“I am never left behind or left alone. Thanks to my loving Father who has provided me with His Spirit, I will always have Someone with me.” (John 14:6)
I take great hope in this, and hope you do as well.

Amen! “Our Father” should be the most unifying description of God for all of us. Thank you for writing this, I’ve actually never thought about it much until now.😊

It’s interesting how we can have this prayer memorized and yet never noticed the significance of the word, our. Thank you for sharing this point. God bless you today, Cindi!
