Boom Box

I have a stereo system with external speakers at my office. It reminds me of a boom box from the 1990’s. I have the bass set to the highest level. It has a cassette player, CD player, and a USB port.

Recently I was listening to the radio and this song came on. It absolutely resonated with my soul. I bought the MP3 of it and put it on the flash stick, inserted into my boom box and let it rip.

While standing directly in front of the player, I let the song wash over me. I could feel the bass vibrating in my soul. At that moment, I had an awareness that I was getting a little taste of what music in heaven will be like, and was filled with such joy at the prospect.

I also have the song on my MP3 player, so when I am at home, I can go into my prayer closet and worship God with it too. (In addition to the others Christian music I have on it.)

A side note was, when I first played it at my office, I had the door shut, so as to hopefully not disturb my neighbors. Well a client had arrived during the song, and waited on a chair in the hallway, until I opened the door. She said she could hear and feel the bass. So I got to share with her what prompted me to play that song, and she loved it. I got to use my moment of music from heaven with her as a witness for God.

God is so good!

  1. Psalm 150

    Praise the Lord!
    Praise God in his sanctuary;
        praise him in his mighty heavens!
    Praise him for his mighty deeds;
        praise him according to his excellent greatness!

    Praise him with trumpet sound;
        praise him with lute and harp!
    Praise him with tambourine and dance;
        praise him with strings and pipe!
    Praise him with sounding cymbals;
        praise him with loud clashing cymbals!
    Let everything that has breath praise the Lord!
    Praise the Lord!

    Praise Him with a big ol’ bass line!
