Giggle

You will never forget your first time. (And every time thereafter ain’t bad either.) When you experience it, the absolute power of it is so awesome, you break out in gleeful giggles! You step back and think, “Wow! Did that just happen? I need to do that again!”

I’m talking about a giggle switch. This switch allows the shooter of a gun to swap from semi-auto fire to full-auto fire.When you are used to shooting at the gun range a certain way, and then suddenly a whole new world is opened up to you, you can’t help but giggle.

God has blessed me with the gift of encouragement. I am always on the lookout to flip someone’s giggle switch. The other day I was chatting with a lady in customer service whose voice appeared to be sad. Holy Spirit prompted me to flip her switch, and I did, with this joke.

“Where did the rainbow go to jail? He went to prism because he got a light sentence.” She went from semi-auto to full-auto in an instant and busted out laughing. She then told me that her daughter had a panorama project due at school the next day involving rainbows, and would I please tell the joke to her again so she could write it down. She said her daughter would use it in her presentation.

There is enough bad news and evil in the world today, and any time I get a chance to use my gift to combat that and shine the light of Jesus, I’m flipping the switch. I want to live terrifically alive and hope to inspire others to do the same.

Romans 12:16 states that we should live happily together in a spirit of harmony.

I also pray that the Lord “would unveil within you the unlimited riches of his glory and favor until supernatural strength floods your innermost being with his divine might and explosive power.” (Eph. 3:16 [TPT] Sounds like a giggle switch moment to me!

But wait, there’s more! “Now may God, the inspiration and fountain of hope, fill you to overflowing with uncontainable joy and perfect peace as you trust in him. And may the power of the Holy Spirit continually surround your life with his super-abundance until you radiate with hope!” (Rom. 15:13 [TPT])

So I’m going to live as it says in the Word of God. I’m going to flip my giggle switch and live in a full-auto mode, with explosive power that overflows, giving radiant hope to everyone I meet. Flip your giggle switches people, you won’t regret it!
