Before and after

You know my favorite part of make-over shows? When they do the big reveal at the end. The person brings in an old rusty piece of junk they found in a barn, and the shop restores it to pristine condition, and the look on their faces is awesome! Or the restaurant is failing and the team comes in and gives it a complete remodel, to making it completely brand new, and the look on the owner’s face is awesome!

My pastor mentioned this is a recent sermon. He said he loves the stories where some guy finds a rusty BWM motorcycle in that back of a barn, and takes it to be restored. The before and after pictures show the detailed work and care that went into restoring it to its original condition.

He said we are like that rusty bike found in the barn. God finds us way in the back, covered with dust and cobwebs, brings us out into the sunlight, and then into His workshop, where He lovingly, and with great care, restores us to our original, pristine condition, through the work of His Son Jesus.

Every single day God is remodeling us to be more like Jesus. (Rom. 8:29) He loves us so much, He painstakingly takes us apart piece by piece, cleans off the rust, repairs the broken pieces, putting new pieces in where they belong, until we are a new creation. (2 Cor. 5:17) He will not stop until we are in perfect condition. (Ps. 138:8)

God who began this great work in us will carry it on until it is finished on the Day of Jesus Christ. (Phil 1:6) And don’t worry, He who calls us will do it, because He is faithful. Or another way says, He who calls you is utterly faithful and He will finish what He has set out to do. (1 Thes. 5:24)

I don’t know about you, but I am so excited to see my reveal when the Day of Jesus Christ comes! I cannot wait to see my before and after pictures! Rusty to gleaming! And the look on my face and the face of Jesus will be awesome!

  1. And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” (Rev 21:5) What a great and glorious day that will be!

  2. Hi there! I can see by your posts that you have an insatiable desire to learn more about Jesus. I relate. I would like all my days to be where I get up and have nothing else to do but learn more about HIM. I love how there are tons of free videos and books nowadays, all Christian. Great post and image of what we will see in the future. ❤
